In situ

Our in-situ activities

The industrial painting company SPI is very much involved in sub-contracting processes, up to the core of its customers’ production units. In-situ services for the benefit of Airbus, Stelia Aerospace, Dassault or Daher cover components within assembly lines, or in dedicated production work floors for which we manage the operations.

Key security operations are under SPI’s whole responsibility, either from methods defined by the aircraft manufacturer, or compliant with the methods studied by our engineering Dpt. We carry out sealing and isolating works, painting and application of resin on central sections and their fuel tanks, protection treatments for panels and structural elements, surface treatments, painting and marking of titanium or stainless steel piping.

In-situ service can be a complementary intervention to a ‘classical’ sub-contracted one, i.e. when elements of Daher wing tips are painted in our Malville work floors, assembled by the aircraft manufacturer, then finished in our in-situ workshops.

Since 2014, on-site services have taken on a new activity, with the creation of SPI Méaulte (Somme), within the frame of a new on-site service contract signed with Stelia Aerospace. 90 people are operational and take part in the manufacturing of the nose of all the aircrafts of the Airbus family, from the A320 to the A380, including the A400M, the A350 XWB and the A330/340. SPI teams also work on aircraft manufacturers’ and users’ sites in Saint-Nazaire, Nantes, Mérignac, Cuers.

The integration of ACOS Solutions in 2016 has doted SPI with means and know-how in the fields of aircrafts painting, including cleaning, paint stripping, marking and decoration.

SPI is an actor in new as well as in MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Operations)
