Engineering

Over the past 5 years, SPI has implemented a capacity to radically transform the organization of work floors dedicated to paint and sealing processes. These processes were, for a long time, given little consideration in the industry and left to be dealt with by craftsmen’s management in aging workshops, often dirty and disorganized. What’s more, these operations being done at the final stages of manufacture underwent important load fluctuations imposing flexibility and reactivity.

The pursuit of competitiveness, in terms of environmental impact and economical effect and in the drive to reduce manufacturing cycles exerted SPI to offer a high level know-how to entirely review the processes of painting/sealing so as to design complete innovating organizations, using best practices from the Lean and automation, while scrupulously respecting the latest environmental standards.

SPI painting and sealing are done today on progressive pitch-tracking lines, capable of dealing with different elementary reference parts or complex sub-assemblies, with high standardized equipment and workstations guaranteeing minimum movement and a high level of ergonomy for staff.

Significant efforts in R&D, particularly in cobotics with very high level partners, will allow, in the short term, to optimize an ever-growing performance at the service of clients.

A team of 15 engineers and technicians work daily to design, apply and support modern and performing solutions at the service of a strategic process to which SPI wishes to administer its distinction.

These solutions are applied by SPI on its own premises, but also for in-situ clients, offering the possibility of developing their common investment into a long-term partnership.
