Railway

SPI, Identical requirements as for aeronautics

Railway has been anchored in SPI activity since its creation in 1980. From the start, SPI has applied the same requirements as for aeronautic and has worked with the most important players, such as Barat Paramet, Faiveley, S.M.T.C., TransDev and Alstom.

In 2000, the opening of the second SPI site and the putting into service of the painting cabins of over 55 and 72 feet have given a new dimension to treatment capacities. These tools, together with the expertise acquired on small and medium components and on all types of material, allow to apprehend all jobs on all programs, train, underground, tram.

The take-over of ACOS Solutions located in Gironde in 2016 brings with it new skills and complementary techniques to the historical activity of Société de Peinture Industrielle (SPI).

Both the skill and technical resources make SPI a partner capable of operating on metals, steel, aluminum, as well as on composites and polyesters. Thus for the tram Citalis, the whole of the painting job was done before assembling the carriages.

SPI activity also includes operations on spare-parts or components coming from repair/refurbishment for operators such as the SNCF, Semitan, Transdev, for trams, TGV or buses.

For interior parts as well as structure ones, methods and product range are adapted to the obligations specific to railway material. Cosmetics are as important as for car paintwork, but the protection function is intensified, particularly with a multilayer of powder coating, and more so with the application of an anti-marking and anti-graffiti protection film.

A meticulous management of shades allows to meet all requests, throughout the life cycle of the material. Within the framework of maintenance or repair operations, SPI is able to trace, in a very short delay and for one-off components, both the historic and method records and restore it as new.

The ISO 9001 certification and process audits of manufacturers such as Alstom and Bombardier attest the quality of services carried out by SPI. SPI’s mastered experience confers expertise for the treatment of surfaces and allows us to develop a global offer :

Preparation of the surface using a chemical method (aluminum, titanium), sand blasting (steel, aluminum), corundum sand blasting without iron oxide (stainless steel and titanium), micro-sand blasting/glass beading (thermoplastic) and traditional manual hand sanding (prepreg)

Application of liquid or powder paint (electrostatic), powder coating, traditional spray gun application.
